Its been a busy and not so busy week (is that possible?)I still havent given my car a check up, i havent got my books, i havent done alot of things i planned to do since the hols, but such is life.
Speaking of car check ups, Ishuet, Terri and I were on our way back from Gurney after catching a movie (fantastic four, give it a go!) when .. her car radiator temperature started going up. The three of us stared at it, wondered what was wrong (at this point ishuet started smelling smoke, but was worried we would think she was paranoid so she didnt say anything!), came to all sorts of conclusions before pulling over at the petrol station after driving another 100 to 200 meters. Then we realised smoke was billowing out from under the hood. The three of us know nuts about cars however, i know enough to manage to pop open to bonnet ... then we sat there and stared at the smoke.
A future engineer, future physicsist and future linguist - our first impulse was to douse it out with water. Brilliant eh? At least we knew enough not to open the water tank, or i wouldnt be here right now - probably in some hospital with all the skin on my face scalded off. Anyway, three girls nicely dressed, standing by a car with its hood open, looking quite lost in the middle of the night and not a single asshole came to help!! Shows us how gentlemanly Malaysian guys are .. even the dumbass petrol attendants didnt bother coming. Screw Petronas, go to Shell. We would have sat there for eternity trying to figure out what to do, or wrecked the car completly in the process of rectifying the situation had not some nice slighlty balding, but red haired Malay dude who pulled over to fill up at the staion noticed our predicament. And came over to give us a hand and a long lecture about how to take care of a car (Aiyo aiyo, the car can meletup in your face you tau .. Bahaya oh...). :) There is some good in the world after all. As it is, it took almost an hour before we could get back on the road .. And it took us all the way to Ishuets house before we realised the car was leaking water the whole way there. It was smoking again by the time we reached.. and looking down the road we noticed a long trail of water. Which was a funny thing cos it didnt leak when we filled it up .. just goes to show we dont know much about the insides of cars. And Terri doesnt know how to put pressure in the tyres. Hahahahha :)
The mechanic came the next day and fixed it. Just like that. We should all go learn something about our cars.
And about cars .. i was driving yesterday when i noticed spots on the windscreen. So i pulled the wiper trigger (i dont even know what to call it) to squirt water and clean it off ..... and the damn thing wouldnt stop!!! It kept squirting water and wiping my windows!! Panic Panic!! Driving around like an idiot in the sun with the wipers on!! I had to pull over a kill the engine a couple of times before it stopped. And I think it only stopped cos the water tank was empty. The next time i need to wipe poo of the windows, i'll do it by hand.
