Tick Tock

I sit at my study table, unable to focus
Occasionally sneaking glances at the time.

Hoping against hope that the phone will ring
Alternately switching from believing it will ring
to telling myself that it wont.

Its still silent.
So i continue sitting
With my thoughts scattered.
